The Qingjian citrus series was developed in 1949 by crossbreeding Trovita sweet orange (a fruiting variety of Chinese navel) with Wenzhou honey orange at the Japanese Horticultural Experiment Station. Registered in 1979. Main traits: Strong tree vigor, narrow and elongated leaves, and drooping branches; The fruit is flattened and round, large in size, and generally weighs around 200 grams; The fruit surface is smooth, orange, and glossy; The skin is thin and tightly wrapped, but it is still easy to peel the variety.

The meat is orange red in color, tender and juicy, with a sugar content of about 11 ° -12 ° and an acidity of about 1% in March. The taste is full and juicy, with a sweet and sour taste. High quality, it is seedless when there are no pollination trees around. It blooms at the end of April or early May, colors in early December, and matures in late February to early March of the following year. It can be left on the tree until May to June for harvesting. The market period is from March to June, which is different from spring citrus. It is a valuable late maturing and easy to peel variety in the market.
